How to add Youtube Videos to your Listings

Video is a great tool for employers and job seekers alike. With WiHire, you can easily insert YouTube videos into listings and reviews. Don't be afraid to post quick webcam pieces like our examples, this doesn't have to be a work of art!

  • Add a recruiting video or video job description to job listings: example
  • Add a video resume or quick elevator pitch to job seeker listings: example
  • Ask previous or existing employees from your department to post a video review of the position: example
  • Get your friends, family, co-workers, teachers, or others to post a video review of you as a potential employee
Remember, above all else, keep videos BRIEF. Nobody will watch a video for more than a minute, so use that as a guideline. Get your information across in as little time as possible. Also, don't waste time on excessive editing, graphics, or captions. A brief clip filmed on a webcam is more than adequate.

Here is how it's done:

1Videos can be inserted when you submit or edit a listing or review. First, film your video and upload it to YouTube, or use YouTube's "quick capture" feature to record it right onto YouTube.

2Navigate to the video on Youtube and copy the video's URL (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cHVCnnVHc4). Remember, you want the URL, NOT the embed code.

3Paste that url into the "Youtube URL" field in your job listing, resume, or review. That's it! Your video will stream right from YouTube to your listing on WiHire.
